Breast Implant Removal

There are many reasons people remove breast implants. Common things I hear are your breasts are bigger than you want them to be (which we see often as women age, particularly around menopause), you are “over it,” the breast implants have turned “hard” (capsular contracture), you are worried the breast implants are causing health symptoms, you have the textured implant shell and want your implants out, your implant position has shifted, or your natural tissue has slid off the implant causing a waterfall or “snoopy” deformity,

This can be a complex surgery. There are many issues to be discussed when you decide to remove the implant. Please read my page on implant removal, where I discuss things like total capsulectomy, en bloc capsulectomy, muscle redraping, if a lift is needed a or not, and what will it look like? This is a time to see a seasoned plastic surgeon with expertise in breast surgery, particularly breast implant revisions. Please bring a copy of your operation report or implant card if available.
