Yes. Finally.
Many of you have said when getting injections, “this is the price I pay for beauty.” Well, now that beauty will hurt a little less. Juvederm (and Restylane) have both come out with HA fillers with LIDOCAINE. I have tried it on some patients now, even in the lips, and it didn’t hurt much. (It still hurts a little). Allergan’s report showed 9 out of 10 patients had less pain. And their study showed their addition of lidocaine as a dry substance has no effect on the HA concentration, volume, degradation, or pH. So in English, this stuff works just like the stuff without the lidocaine, it just hurts less. It is available in the Juvederm ultra and ultra plus.
NOTE: What is lidocaine? It is the numbing agent we use when you get a shot at my office or the dentist. It makes it so what we do doesn’t hurt.
