Coronavirus. A tribute to my sister and other doctors on the front lines.

Posted on April 4, 2020

I am not on the front lines yet of those dealing with the Coronavirus crisis.

I am doing my part by seeing those who I can (I sewed up a friend of a friend the other day- anything to keep people out of the ER). My surgical center has donated supplies for PPE (the masks, gloves, and gowns).

But I think of those on the front lines – the ER, ICU, internal medicine, pediatricians, family practice doctors- the nurses, the respiratory therapists, the paramedics.  I think of the stress they feel every day when they go to do their job.  I think of how they shower and shower and strip their clothes off before they enter their homes. I think of how they do not hug their children or sleep in beds with their spouses.

They are heroes.

Please do your part. Stay home. Stay safe.
