What letters you should bring to your breast reduction appointment.

Breast reductions may be covered by insurance.

We have to fight much more to get this coverage than we did in the past.  If you have seen any of the following, please try to get a letter of support for your breast reduction.  Insurance companies want to see your reduction is “medically necessary.”  Back pain, shoulder pain, disc issues, disability from work are all supportive to prove medical necessity.

Please alert these caregivers ahead of time and have them write a letter of medical necessity for your breast reduction.  Get copies of the readings of any pertinent Xrays or other tests to show changes.  Bring these letters with you to your appointment.  It is more effective for me to submit your case for review as a packet which includes all of the information, along with my letter and your photos.

Frequent massages and yoga are usually not supportive. Sorry! But they are lovely to have.
