Journal time!

September 2014 Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal had an article, “Population Analysis of the Perfect Breast: A Morphometric Analysis.”

The question: Is there a perfect breast shape?

Here is a study I know many of you would have loved to be part of.  In this study 100 models with natural breasts were viewed.  1315 people were asked to rate the attractiveness of the photos of 4 women with differing proportions of the upper pole to the lower pole of the breast.  The rankings were analyzed looking at age, race, nationality, and sex.

The results showed across the board people agreed (men/women, North/South America/Europe, White/Asian).20141014-144842.jpg

In their discussion, the authors talk about how a lot of patients like the full upper pole cleavage area, but there seems to be no evidence this is a desirable feature in the naked breast.  They go on to state what women want to look like clothed is different than naked.
