FDA approves Botox to treat crow’s feet

What does this mean?

Botox has been approved in since 2002.  The original studies were done only on the glabella lines, so the FDA indication was for this area (the “11” between your eyebrows).

The FDA now expanded the indication for botox to include the crow’s feet.  This is because Allergan (the parent company to Botox) did two randomized, multi center placebo controlled studies looking at more than 1350 subjects, comparing those with botox and those without, to treat the crow’s feet lines.

Findings of the study? “Botox was an effective treatment compared to the control group which did not receive botox treatment.”

For those of us who have been using Botox for years for crows feet wrinkles, we already knew that. 🙂
