Fat grafting : What bra to wear after surgery?

Posted on May 18, 2012

Fat grafting can’t have pressure on the newly transferred fat until it gets a new blood supply.  That likely takes weeks.  So what do you do to support the breasts during the healing time?

I do think some support is good, as gentle pressure can help keep you from swelling and bruising as much.  The issue is how to get gentle pressure?  This one I take from Dr. Khouri, as I thought it was brilliant.

Yes, ladies, whip out those old nursing bras.   Nursing bras are lightweight, they give gentle pressure and support, but they were designed to not be harsh to avoid clogging those milk ducts.  Perfect for newly transferred fat.
