The what: “Practice Patterns in Primary Breast Augmentation: a 16 year Review of Continuous Certification Tracer Data from the American Board of Plastic Surgery,” published 2023 December in the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Journal.

Interesting tidbits:

• IMF incision has become more popular since 2015 (80% now, used to be 68%)
• Submuscular placement has increased (56% vs 22%)
• Silicone implants are 82% of breast augs (up from 58%)
• Textured implant are 0% in 2021 following the FDA warnings.

My thoughts?

Makes sense. This mimics my own practices when it comes to breast augmentation. When I started in 2000, I did mostly saline implants through a periareolar incision under the muscle. Now, knowing what we do about biofilm, breast implant illness, ALCL, and other issues, this totally makes sense.

She has a rare combination of incredible professionalism and compassion. She won’t talk down to you, or be dismissive, as many other doctors do. And she is a world-class doctor — as you’ll see from other reviews, her work is outstanding. As the reviewer S.M. confirms, the medical community in the Bay Area recognizes her extraordinary skill, and she has many long-term patients, which gives you an idea of her caliber. I am sure that she’ll be to capacity soon, and that appointments will be hard to get, so I’d get on her preferred patient list now.

I’ve known Dr. Greenberg for 10 years now. At that time, I was looking into doing a liposuction and met with a handful of plastic cosmetic surgeons to get their opinions. I really didn’t trust any of the doctors I met with, that is until I met with Dr. Greenberg. Dr. Greenberg is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. I do see her now regularly for botox injections. In my opinion she is one of the best plastic cosmetic surgeons in the bay area.

After going to consultations with three doctors in the bay area it was an easy and obvious choice for me to go with Dr. Greenberg. I chose her because I felt that she, above all, really listened to my preference and is extremely knowledgeable in her field. Where I felt other doctors tried to convince me of something or overrule my wishes, she laid out the options in easy to understand language and truly listened and took in my feelings and preferences. Also I felt she was up to date on current research and innovations in her field. She gave me realistic expectations and answered all of my questions. She is succinct and to the point, but not unloving or insensitive. Choosing a doctor is a lot about the general vibe you feel with them, and I felt strongly that I could trust Dr. Greenberg and that she would not only give me the results I was looking for but also take care of me. I would recommend at least you see her for a consultation and see if her style is right for you.
